Before the Throne of Grace

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises.

Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. James 5:13-16 NASB

These prayer requests have become known to us through our attachments to assorted churches (churches we were once members of or have good friends in), or that visitors to the Word4Women and Word4Men sites and blogs leave with us.

Just Monday night, a saint, Anne Britton, was called home suddenly.  Her daughter Melissa and her family are in our church and her husband Ken is one of our elders.  Mrs. Britton showed very strong evidences of a strong Christian walk to include a great reputation for Bible Study, Christian Hospitality and sacrifice for the good of churches in her locale.  Please pray for Melissa and her family as they adjust to their loss, and praise God for the homecoming of Mrs. Britton.

We have recieved word of family members of fellow believers who are not Christians who are going through life and death medical struggles.  Please pray for God to grant them physical healing, but even more so, to use the trial to call them to Himself.  By name you can pray for Tommy.

A sister who recently moved from our fellowship out of state with her husband’s job has asked that we pray for her as she is easily discouraged being away from her Christian sisters…her encouragers.  Please pray that God would grant her Christian ladies to come alongside her in her new home, but also that God would draw her closer in fellowship directly with Himself.

We have two older couples in our fellowship who have young adult grandchildren battling leukemia.  Please pray for God’s physical healing for the children and encouragement for the families.  Christopher and Emily by name.

An elderly sister who has had a painful ailments over the last few years has a troublesome fracture of her pelvic bone.  It is very trying for Sara and her husband Billy is greatly grieved over her pain and frustration.

An Australian brother is suffering from a double hernia.

We pray for our Brother and Sister in Love susan and Sully as Sully prepares for Chemo and more testing in the near future.

Be in prayer on the 18th of November as this is the day that many we are praying for have tests and procedures. Pray the doctors will have clear discernment and God will be with all of the loved ones as they stand in support.

Don, Gail and Ian, a missionary family serving in inland Argentina.  While Don was in Chile holding a pastors conference Gail and Ian were present when a gang broke into their home and held Gail at knife point while the ransacked the home and stole most of their valuables.  Please pray for Gail’s recovery from the trauma, the recovery of the possessions (or a good insurance claim) and for the continuance of God’s work through them.

While attending a conference this week, Greg became greatly grieved by what he heard from the pulpit.  Please pray that God would restore the Gospel to the pulpits our churches.
